The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for areas such as research, development, and design of fluidic and mechanical systems and components related to existing and new product development, creating documentation, i.e., drawings, BOM's, ECO's etc., as required, supporting Manufacturing, Field Service, Customer Service, and other departments with respect to existing products, designing opto-mechanical and mechanical assemblies, and creating models and analysis using 2D or 3D CAD packages.

  • Project management tasks may be required, including schedule creation/maintenance and supervision of other engineers and technicians

Education Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree science or engineering required
Experience Qualifications
  • 8+ Years in a related field required
  • 10+ Years in a related field preferred
Training and Skills
  • Proficiency with the Solidwork, Simulation, and Flow Simulation software (High proficiency)
  • Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software packages (High proficiency)
  • Well-developed data analysis skills (High proficiency)
  • Well-developed communication skills (Medium proficiency)
  • Well-developed interview skills (Medium proficiency)
  • Well-developed ability to manage projects and people (Medium proficiency)
  • Familiarity with the current versions of applicable company policies and procedures (Medium proficiency)
  • Familiarity with the company’s document control system Agile and creation of ECO's (Medium proficiency)
  • Planning and scheduling skills for ensuring documents and drawings are reviewed and approved in a timeline consistent with project goals (Medium proficiency)
  • Ability to translate written product specifications into functional product designs (Medium proficiency)
Travel Requirements
  • 10% Travel for training or work at other Luminex facilities.
