Responsibilities:
BlueHalo is seeking to fill embedded software engineering positions in the Acquisition, Tracking, and Pointing (ATP) and SpaceTech Divisions. The ATP Division of BlueHalo is responsible for next generation EO/IR and high-energy laser system development. The SpaceTech Division handles development of space based processing, controls, and electro-optical solution customer in the growing industry of space.
Embedded software engineers within these divisions work on small and large team, taking mission objectives and requirement and creating software solutions. As an embedded software engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Potential matrixed or shared workload between the ATP and SpaceTech Divisions
- Develop real-time software running on embedded microcontrollers for terrestrial and space systems
- Develop software for system integration and test
- Support integration and test
- Write technical documents to support program needs
- Work with AI and Tracker team on development and integration of new algorithms
- Manage program requirements
- GUI development
- CD/CI of system critical software
- Support field test and evaluation
Candidates are required to have:
- Bachelor of Science or master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science
- 4-8 years of software engineering experience in C and C++
- Experience in GUI development either in Python, C#, or Java
- Candidate must be able to work in a highly collaborative environment with other disciplines and must be able to work independently using the techniques, libraries, and processes use
- Must be able to work on-site, job is not remote
- Must be willing to travel to support proposal, design review, integration, test and other activites activities
- Good communications skills
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with RTOS such as VxWorks or FreeRTOS
- Experience DSP
- Experience developing for real-time embedded systems
- Experience implementing control logic
- Experience with developing software for space with high level-of-rigor
- ARM process coding experience
- Worked with EO/IR systems
- GitHub and GitLab version control
- MATLAB
- Knowledge of how to use general lab equipment (oscilloscopes, DSA, function generator, lab supply, etc.)
