We are looking for an Employment Training Specialist who will provide direct care services that empower, teach, train, and guide the individuals served. Must provide assessments, skills training, and development in the community to ensure participant success in a vocational setting. May work a variety of shifts, occasionally including weekends.

Some of your job responsibilities will be (but not limited too):

  • Write reports and case notes legibly detailing activities, issues, and successes.
  • Identify problems, use data to establish facts, and draw valid conclusions toward resolution
  • Identify training needs, assess participant skills and abilities; train and supervise participants, in broad areas of vocational and/or community settings;
  • Oversee work assignments ensuring that work is done in accordance with employer standards.
  • Interpret an extensive variety of instructions and communicate these instructions to the individual in a manner that is conducive to their learning capabilities
  • Transport individuals in company and/or personal vehicles to various work locations and community activities
  • Assist individuals with achieving personal goals and participate in activities of their choice.
  • Help teach appropriate social behavior to the individuals by modeling appropriate social behavior at all times.
  • Advocate for the individual encouraging and supporting each individual in achieving personal goals, decision making, and promoting an environment of respect for all individuals.
  • Provide support systems to enhance the individuals overall experience in the community and/or work settings.
  • Has knowledge of individual and employee Grievance and Appeals process, and communicates employee rights to the individuals.
  • Provide EOU with required up-to-date vehicle registration and insurance documents in a timely manner.
  • Keep accurate data, progress notes, and attendance records for all assigned individuals.

Physcial Demands include (but not limited too):

  • Can be a highly pressured environment.
  • Unconventional schedules.
  • Possible exposure to blood borne pathogens.
  • May work in extreme temperatures
  • Possible exposure to violent and/or offensive behavior from individuals served.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs, bend and squat (in order to properly perform the techniques taught in FA/CPR and Lifting
  • Constantly performs simple motor skills such as driving, walking, standing, and sitting for prolonged periods of time

Qualifications:

  • 18 years of age or 21 for positions that require the employee to be a driver.
  • Have a high school degree or GED. Associates degree preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record with no more than 6 At least 1-year experience in providing direct support to recipients of community human services.
  • Experience in vocational training. points.
  • Have a safe, insured and registered vehicle.
  • Pass background check, negative TB test, and drug screen. add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals;
  • Strong organizational, communication (both written and verbal) and public relations skills.
  • Trained in First Aide/CPR, Blood borne Pathogens and Infection Control procedures, Recipients Rights. Working knowledge of Gentle Teaching Techniques, Person Centered Planning and Self-Determination practices.

Pay: From $17.60 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
