Overview:
The EH Specialist is responsible for performing support duties in a specialty area of Employee Health, worker's compensation. Duties will vary depending on area but will involve contact with employees, managers, and outside individuals. Perform routine problem resolution or referrals on matters pertaining to TB, Respirator Fit, and workers compensation. Administration of both Time and Attendance and Short Term Disability pay. Administration of Respiratory Fit testing and compliance for CDS. Support and assist HR technology projects .Provides administrative support to Manager and Disability Managers within Employee Health.
Qualifications:
  • Preferred Education: Associate Degree
  • Preferred experience in employee health.
  • Experience with respiratory fit testing preferred.
Responsibilities:
  • Utilizes human resource information systems to process and document actions related to specialty.
  • Provides customer service to PHS employees and managers and in some instances, non-employees, in specialty area by phone or in person.
  • Specialty areas to include Employee Health, Workers Compensation, Benefits, Billing and Payroll.
  • Develops spreadsheets, databases and other measurement and reporting tools for tracking disability programs.
  • May be cross trained to other Employee Health functions to assist when needed for peak volumes.
  • Track all restricted duty and extended restricted duty assignments.
  • Management of CDS Respiratory Fit Testing compliance program. This includes scheduling the clinics, conducting the clinics, training other testers, tracking and reporting compliance and developing appropriate solutions to achieve required compliance.
  • Uses all available resources to respond to incoming requests in an effort to assist customers with a resolution to their problem/concern.
  • Prepares OSHA reports and ensures reports are posted in timely manner. Maintains records of OSHA logs for CDS.
  • Posts Short Term Disability hours into payroll system and administers payroll for Employee Health.
  • Assists other Employee Health staff in learning new IT systems and applications which involve Employee Health.
  • Assists clerical staff as needed in registering, scheduling, charge posting and other front/back duties.
  • Prepare agenda and requested reports for monthly Workers Compensation meetings.
  • Maintains drug screen results in required manner and assists with MRO and Back To Work processes as requested.
  • Assists in collection of employee reported injuries to determine injury trends. Report identified trends, problem areas and possible improvements to Employee Health management.
