Koch Methanol, LLC is currently seeking an Emergency Response Coordinator to provide leadership and strategic direction for its methanol production facility in St. James, Louisiana. This is an exciting opportunity to help continue developing Emergency Response capabilities and culture for its recently constructed methanol production facility. This role will partner with our operations team to establish a fully integrated Koch Methanol Emergency Response Team and also partner with Koch Subject Matter Experts to lead the development and implementation of all Emergency Response policies, procedures, and trainings. This role will report to the EHS Leader and will work directly with the Leadership Team to identify risk reduction opportunities that are aligned with the company’s vision.

  • Must be willing and able to respond to emergency calls 24/7

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Develop and manage the Emergency Response (ER) program for Koch Methanol
  • Establish core site capabilities in Hazmat Response, Fire Response, Medical Response, and Rescue
  • Establish effective ER training capability
  • Represent Parish Mutual Aid and CARE organization at the site
  • Collaborate with operations team to develop pre-plans for ER
  • Establish a drill cadence to ensure capable response efforts
  • Own change management of response plans and procedures for administrative and technical updates, prepare new plans/procedures as needed, and conduct effective plan reviews
  • Implement approaches including development of response tools and guides, public awareness strategies, local emergency response relationships, and tactical response and fire plans for critical assets and locations
  • Act as liaison for guidance and direction on ICS to the EOC Team (IMT) during ER activities
  • Ensure site hurricane readiness
  • Evaluate, recommend, and select innovative solutions to improve the ER program proactively
  • Respond to agency requests and prepare reports for submittal
  • Lead ER capability improvement that will include system sustainability improvement, work management systems, training systems, and the management of change process
  • Ensure readiness of all ER equipment and assets

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5+ years experience in an Emergency Response Team Management role or in a role directing Emergency Response Capability
  • Experience managing multi-discipline emergency response teams (HAZMAT, Industrial Fire Brigade, Emergency Medical, Confined Space-High Angle Rescue, and Incident Command)
  • Experience coordinating emergency preparedness and response programs for chemical industries

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field
  • Emergency Medical Responder or Emergency Medical Technician Certifications
  • Certified Trainer for ERT Programs
  • Certified Fire Protection Specialist
