    This is an anticipated full-time (260-day) Elementary Building Secretary which falls under the Support Staff contract. This position will tentatively begin on July 1, 2023. NOTE: We will review internal candidates prior to reviewing external candidates who apply for this position.

    Responsibilities:

    Responsibilities include direct secretarial support to Principal and Assistant Principal, management of day-to-day office/school functions, ability to effectively communicate with all stakeholders in both written and oral form, as well as other responsibilities as assigned.
    Job Overview:
    The Palmyra Area School District is seeking an anticipated building secretary for Lingle Avenue Elementary (K-5.) This position works 260-days (year-round) per year. Our building secretary will have the ability to function independently and cooperatively in an ever changing, fast paced environment. Working as a collaborative team member in our main office is essential. Advanced secretarial and computer skills are required, with knowledge of computer applications including but not limited to: Microsoft Office, PowerSchool, Outlook, and Google Applications. Excellent organizational skills are required with attention to deadlines. Candidates must maintain confidentiality and have the ability to cooperatively work with administration, staff, students, and families.

    Qualifications:
    • Excellent organization, computer, and communication skills (both written and verbal) are required.
    • Prior experience working in an office environment for a minimum of three (3) years is required.
    • High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
    • Previous experience working in a school setting is preferred.
    Additional Information:
    • Working hours for this position are 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday.
      • During the summer the working hours are 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday - Thursday.
    • Clerical I - Minimum starting rate of $13.56, midpoint $17.20, and maximum $20.83 per hour – credit will be given for relevant experience. (Wages subject to change July 1, 2023 due to support staff contract.)
    • Clerical II - Minimum starting rate of $15.49, midpoint $19.11, and maximum $22.73 per hour – credit will be given for relevant experience. (Wages subject to change July 1, 2023 due to support staff contract.)
    • District paid health benefits - medical, dental, and vision insurance.
    • Paid holidays, sick, vacation, and flex days based upon contract.
