An industry leader in both the evaluation and treatment of children on the autistic spectrum, City Pro seeks to help each child reach his or her full potential. Our highly experienced, multi-lingual team supports early development with evaluations, service coordination and therapies that include physical and occupational therapies, applied behavioral analysis (ABA), speech therapy, special education, family training, and other special instruction. Serving all five boroughs of New York City, Nassau and Westchester Counties, City Pro’s programs address all facets of a child’s development.

Our COTA Program is a highly selective and backed by a long-term commitment to advancing our employees’ careers through supervision, training and development that support both personal and professional growth. Our program also features flexible schedules, skills training, and work experience while providing services to children on the autistic spectrum. We are seeking Certified Occupational Therapists, who are passionate about improving the lives of children and families while learning. As a COTA, you are supervised by a Licensed OT.

Requirements:


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Understanding of and ability to practice in accordance with agency policies and procedures. Be in good verifiable health. Flexibility and adaptability in providing services in the center. Ability to work independently as well as be an effective multi-disciplinary team member.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate of a program in Occupational Therapy registered by NYS or by the American Occupational Therapy Association or that is deemed equivalent.
  • Certified and currently registered to practice occupational therapy in the State of NY
  • Minimum one-year supervised experience in a health care setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Render Occupational Therapy services to Children 0-3 with an authorized IFSP.
  • Evaluates, instructs and monitors specific functional exercise programs to increase strength, range of motion and upper extremities.
  • Asses for use of ADL equipment.
  • Works on sensory integration skills.
  • Documents progress and activities on session reports.
  • Documents progress on Quarterly progress reports.
