Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant – Pro Action’s Resilient Children and Families Programs are seeking an Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant (ECMHC) to work closely with our Early Childhood workforce (teaching staff, childcare providers, directors) and families.
By providing training and consultation, coaching and mentoring of child care providers, teaching staff, directors and parents, the ECMHC will ensure developmentally appropriate practices within childcare and home settings to support the healthy social-emotional development of infants, toddlers and preschool age children, including those at risk for social-emotional delays and those displaying challenging behaviors.
Education Requirement: This position requires a master’s degree in Psychology or Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field. Clinicians who are licensed or eligible to be licensed preferred. This position requires knowledge of early childhood development and emotional and behavioral health, family systems. Must have knowledge of formal and informal tools used to assess social-emotional health and be able to use evidence-based curricula to promote early childhood mental health.
Additional Requirements: Three to five years of experience working with children or families is preferred. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, along with willingness to travel in Steuben and Schuyler counties and to state-wide meetings is required. The ability to work independently within a flexible schedule and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite are required.
