Glacier West Self Storage is seeking a District Manager to fill a Full-Time Storage Position in the Snohomish area. Seeking career-minded candidates with experience in the field of property management and self-storage.

We are offering an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced District Manager, with great technical and people skills, to play a key role at Glacier West Self Storage.

Pay offered: $ 80,000 - 90,000 annually + 15,000 bonus potential annually (based on stores quarterly revenue performance as compared to budget).

Key Accountabilities: Drive District Revenue - Lead and manage store teams in meeting and exceeding revenue and KPI’s including total revenue, rental revenue, insurance revenue and merchandise revenue.

Responsibilities:

  • Foster an environment of accountability for customer service. Actively lead the store team by personally demonstrating customer focus, owning problem resolution and building customer brand loyalty through exemplary service with a smile.
  • Follow company directives, policies and procedures for inventory control, supply purchasing, labor and other controllable expenses.
  • Ensure that the store is fully staffed with qualified employees. Drive timely completion of required training by all employees as well as their understanding and execution of content. Follow Human Resources policies & procedures providing a healthy work environment.
  • Maintain a safe & secure store environment for all employees, customers and visitors. Ensure that all safety equipment is properly maintained and used. Properly trains all employees on safety policies and practices and enforces compliance. Ensure that company security procedures are always followed. Responsible for securing company assets.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by ensuring consistent execution of Glacier West processes across all stores.
  • Coach and lead store level employees to meet or exceed sales and KPI goals.
  • Inspect and create action plans to ensure all units are always safe and in rentable condition. The grounds are well maintained. All systems such as HVAC, elevators, sprinkler, alarm, phones, security and others are in good repair and functioning condition.
  • Inspect to ensure that all store standards are consistently met including, but not limited to safety, cleanliness, security, customer service, cash handling, banking, regulatory compliance etc.
  • Train store level employees and encourage employee development. Create and deliver performance management as needed. Create plans for store performance improvement. Create and deliver annual employee reviews.

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Prior multi-unit management experience
  • Prior customer service experience
  • Valid Driver’s License – Must have the minimum required liability auto insurance in accordance with your states law.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Associate degree or bachelor’s degree
  • At least 5 years multi-unit management experience in a retail or sales environment
  • Preferably storage experience

Work Environment

Tasks are regularly performed indoors and outdoors with exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, temperature and noise extremes, machinery, vibrations, electric currents, chemicals and traffic hazards.

Physical Demands
To perform the duties of this job, an individual must be able to: Talk and hear, read, write, understand and communicate by telephone and in person using the English language. Must be able to read written instructions, leases, manuals, and diagrams.

The employee is frequently required to use hands for typing, 10-key operation, telephone dialing. Regular use of hands for feeling, grasping or manipulating objects, tools, or controls. Occasional using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is regularly required to sit; stand, walk, occasionally required to climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, move over uneven surfaces. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. Regular operation of computers, telephone and printer/copier/scanner/fax. Regular operation of automobiles, golf cart and other equipment.

Work Hours
This is a full-time position. Work week may vary and is generally Monday through Friday (except company holidays).

Travel
Overnight travel by vehicle or airplane may be required. The DM is expected to be at every site at least once a month minimum. More visits may be required based on the staffing needs and performance of the site.
