SUMMARY

The Porter team is a critical component of the Sonora Grill Kitchen. By keeping the kitchen clean and organized with wares properly washed, dried and cared for, greatly increase the efficiency of the kitchen and help to make it a better experience for everyone.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

A kitchen porter is responsible for keeping the kitchen clean, sanitary and organized. A kitchen porter's job will include the following in addition to other assignments assigned by management.

1. Attend training and understand company policy and protocols defined in handbook

2. Show respect for employees, vendors, guests and others you come into contact with at work.

3. Have and Maintain a food handlers permit. Understand food and kitchen safety and adhere to these parameters at all times

4. Complete cleaning and sanitation of all smallware, flatware, glassware, pots, pans and items used in the preparation of food that are safe to use in a dishwasher or three sink set up.

5. Return all washed and properly dried items to their proper location and keep the kitchen organized.

6. Manage trash, compost and recycling removal and processing.

7. Clean and maintain dish pit area and equipment

8. Sweep, scrub and squeegee the floors to company standard.

9. Assist cooks with basic prep and food heating when available or needed. These are the opportunities to learn and progress further into the kitchen.

10. Keep your station clean, organized, sanitary and in good working order as well as assisting the team to keep shared areas such as dry storage and the walk in in equally good order.

11. Perform any reasonable tasks as requested by management.

12. Attend and contribute to required meetings and training classes.

RESPONSIBILITIES TO SAFETY:

1. Protect the safety of self, co-workers, and guests at all times.

2. Promptly report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor and/or appropriate department(s).

3. Report safety-related accidents and incidents at once to the immediate supervisor or shift manager.

4. Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures

5. Operate equipment in a safe manner that will not lead to injury of yourself or others.
