Summary
The Director of Segment Insights specializes in market and member demand and translating data into strategies through segmentation, market analysis, conducting research and testing, and leading product & service innovation. This role works closely with cross-functional leaders across the organization as a key partner responsible for growth, engagement, and optimization.
Essential Functions
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; managing performance; rewarding and coaching associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.- Define target segments and cost of acquisition parameters for each segment based on profitability and expected lifetime value.
- Analyze market data to derive actionable insights regarding segment demand, propensities, expectations, and trends.
- Identify and prioritize market-driven growth opportunities and areas for expansion, evolution and business development
- Analyze market data and conduct primary and secondary research related to segment demand and propensities for products and services, in partnership with Marketing; disseminate key learnings to executive leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Develop and execute comprehensive segment strategies in conjunction with Segment Product Managers and Segment Marketing Manager.
- Oversee implementation of pilot programs and test & learn initiatives related to segment products & services.
- Coordinate with Segment Marketing Manager on go-to-market strategies, product campaigns and promotions, and segment/product outreach.
- Oversee third-party relationships; actively seek out strategic partnerships that best align with corporate priorities.
- Proactively monitor segment and product performance and advise regarding adjustments to growth strategies and execution efforts based on results and trending.
- Assess potential impact of changes in internal or external forces, monitor and detect potential opportunities or threats to products, segments, or sub-markets.
- Oversee life cycle plans for products & services in conjunction with Segment Product Managers.
- Promote a culture of collaboration and data-driven decisions; provide leadership for the Segment Product Managers.
- Stay current on market trends, competitor analysis, regulatory changes, and industry benchmarks.

Education
- Bachelor's Degree Required
- Master's Degree MBA Preferred
Experience
- 8 to 10 years of related experience in financial services, product management, lending/retail banking, and data analytics required
- Management experience required
