About the Program.
At Graham Windham, our Family Foster Care programs help children to get back to their families, be adopted into a new family, or be connected to someone who is willing to be an anchor for children, throughout their childhood and into adulthood. To help us do that, we have hundreds of loving & highly qualified foster parents primarily in Brooklyn, Manhattan, the Bronx, and Westchester County- who serve as our foster children's substitute family.

About the Position.
The Regional Director of Foster Care will provide excellent care for children who are placed in foster care; and will ensure that families are provided with the help they need to reunify with their children or, when that is not possible, to ensure that an alternate permanency plan is created and implemented swiftly.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the design and implementation of service plans for families and children that are inclusive of stakeholders’ input; build on client strengths; that is realistic, effective, provide meaningful assistance, and are in accordance with City, State, and Federal Regulations and mandates.
  • Provides coaching and support to staff to reinforce quality case practice using Solution-Based Casework.
  • Ensure that staff interacts respectfully with families, foster parents, children, adolescents, and young adults.
  • Build staff’s capacity to foresee and prevent casework crises through sound assessments, planning and engagement, and decision-making.
  • Oversee the function of the Brooklyn office including visit schedules, crisis intervention, use of agency vehicles and other resources, and coverage.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate staff with assistance from agency administration.
  • Participate in Division’s strategic planning, policy-making, and training curriculum development.
  • Provide direct supervision to supervisors/others as needed.
  • Be on-call for a case or staff emergency.
  • Prepare monthly reports of the Region’s progress and activities for the Division.
  • Assist in preparation for audits and accreditation.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum five years of supervisory/management experience in a foster care setting.
  • Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW/LMSW) or related field.
  • Understanding of and commitment to respecting cultural diversity.
  • Understanding of and ability to navigate health, mental health, education, housing, MR/DD, and other social service systems.
  • Commitment to staff development; Computer literacy including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and Connections required.
  • Bi-lingual Spanish/English preferred.

Full-time position: salary $90,000 - 95,500 per year, in accordance with qualifications. Graham Windham offers eligible employees a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, holiday pay, a retirement savings plan, and much more.
