DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL (DSP) BENEFITS

DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL (DSP) RESPONSIBILITIES

• Implement active treatment, training programs, behavior plans/protocols and service goals including, but not limited to areas of self-help, daily living, social skills, leisure activities, and community inclusion
• Aid with personal care including toileting, bathing, dressing, meal assistance, and hygiene needs
• Complete housekeeping duties and observe health and/or safety issues
• Drive large capacity vehicles (10 – 15 passenger vans/wheelchair buses) to/from the training center and other outings (non-driving roles available)

DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL (DSP) QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be 18 years or older with a high school diploma or GED
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or working in a nursing home or childcare setting or educational equivalent (preferred, but not required)
• Florida Driver’s License in good standing (if driving position)
• Able to work in the US and not require Visa Sponsorship
• Read, write and comprehend English
• Perform physical requirements associated with transferring/positioning individuals, implementing behavioral crisis management, and lifting/carrying up to 50lbs.
