This position is at an Assisted Living Facility / retirement community. Our facility has a capacity of around 50 residents. Once hired, candidate will receive required state training on dementia, and Alzheimer's as well as other state required trainings.

Job Summary

The dietary aid is responsible for assisting the cook in the kitchen and dining area with the preparation and distribution of the meals for the residents. The dietary aid assists in the preparation and presentation of an attractive and appetizing meal. The dietary aid communicates professionally with residents, families, and peers. General cleaning duties are included in this job description as prescribed by the Food Service Director/Cook on shift.

Qualifications

Education: High School education or equivalent.

Training and Experience: Must be knowledgeable of health regulations regarding food. Serv Safe Food Handlers training course required.

Performance Capabilities: Must have the ability to read, write, and speak English. Communicate effectively. Be organized and conscientious in all aspects of dietary environment.

Requirements: Must present to work clean and groomed with nails trimmed, hair neatly in hairnet. Aprons are to be worn. Gloves are expected in all food service area.

Work Performance Expectations

· Prep and distribute/serve beverages.

· Serve residents plates.

· Distribute meals to rooms.

· Clear tables/pick up trays.

· Wipe down tables.

· Clean coffee/beverage bar.

· Replenish condiments and clean containers.

· Assist cook as needed with washing dishes/cleaning kitchen.

· Roll silverware.

· Complete facility in-services as required.
