United Ability is an organization that provides a variety of services to children and adults with disabilities. We are currently seeking candidates to join our team as Development and Foundation Lead. In this role you will be responsible for the management and oversight of all activities related to fund development and raising awareness for United Ability and United Ability Foundation. This role will manage a team of 3 full-time staff.

Collaborating with other team members, you will:

  • Provide oversight and manage the fundraising efforts through event planning, major gifts, and campaigns. Work with current and prospective donors to cultivate relationships and raise funds for operations and agency needs.
  • Oversees all publicity, marketing, and social media to raise and maintain awareness.
  • Researches and writes non-government grants throughout the year to support multiple agency programs based on needs.
  • Manages departmental budget.
  • Works with all three volunteer Boards of Directors around engagement, personally and in community.
  • Participates in all Foundation Board-related activities; keeps Foundation Board apprised of Development activities and progress; and works to cultivate estate and planned gifts to the Foundation.
  • Works with CEO to help identify, vet, and recruit potential board members.

Applicant general qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, masters degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the area of Development required (Major Gifts, Annual Giving, Communications, Marketing, Events, Grant Writing)
  • Management or supervisory experience required
  • 3 + years background in management preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • Team orientated approach and ability to work well with a variety of people
  • Valid driver’s license
