Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • A combination of 6+ years of relevant education, training, and experience may substitute for the educational requirement.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage nonprofit programs and all aspects of development process including growth and stewardship of funding sources, volunteers, and other support
  • Familiarity with grants management lifecycle
  • High-level writing and technology skills

Incentives:

  • Company pays 50% of the employee's health care premium (up to $450.00) on the 1st of the month following 60 days of employment
  • Company pays a monthly stipend of $20 for required use of employee’s personal cell phone for business purposes
  • Company provides accrued sick days and vacation time totaling 18 days each year.

Oversees: This is a non-supervisory position. The Development Director does not supervise any other staff. The Development Director does recruit, follow company vetting process, train, assign, support, evaluate, and hire/fire volunteers in close communication with company founders or their designated personnel.

The Development Director will report to both of the Founders of Walk Intuit, or to someone designated in writing by them.

Work Schedule: Weekday, evening, and weekend hours will be required

Location: This position is a hybrid of onsite work in the areas of SanJuan Capistrano, CA and Orange Park Acres, CA; remote work from home - which requires use of personal cell phone and a reliable, high speed internet connection; and there will be some travel required in the southern California area.

Approximate time breakdown of responsibilities:

Volunteer recruitment and management (20%):

Manage and direct capital campaigns and event fundraising event efforts (20%)

Funding and organizational development: research, grant management, networking (30%)

Administrative duties: manage databases and CRM; create content and materials (15%)

Marketing, Outreach, Communications (15%):

Job Overview:

The Development Director holds a high-level responsibility for the mechanics and relationships that will maintain existing support, and increase the funding, donors, volunteers, and other support for Walk Intuit. The success metrics include increased funding, increased numbers of supporters and volunteers, and overall sustainable growth for the organization, which will be based on annual development planning and goals, set collaboratively by the founders and board, with consideration of input from staff and other stakeholders such as clients and volunteers.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Establish and achieve goals to Increase financial donations from individual, corporate, and in-kind donors. This will include research and create profiles leading to following a plan of active engagement of leadership teams for local and national, compatible corporate, business, and service clubs to champion achievement of identified goals through their giving programs, and influencing the involvement and giving of others
  • Manage relationships with all donors including identification, solicitation, thanks, and recognition
  • Plan and carry out annual fund drive campaign including outreach, management and tracking of incoming donations, management and growth of donor list, appropriate thanks and recognition
  • Plan and carry out two annual special events designed to raise funds and increase community support
  • Establish and achieve quarterly goals around grants, including to conduct research and identify suitable potential grant funding sources, and complete application process
  • Complete all Grants management requirements including timely gathering of relevant data and reporting
  • Develop and utilize appropriate methods of gathering and tracking all data points that will be utilized in development projects and reports. Track, analyze, and regularly provide comprehensive reporting all data.
  • Increase numbers of quality, vetted volunteers and make strong matches between volunteers and meaningful, productive tasks to further the goals of the organization
  • Manage relationships with all volunteers including appropriate recruitment, vetting process, training and supervision, ongoing support, assignment of duties, thank-you’s, problem solving, recognition
  • Establish and achieve goals related to outreach activities such as tabling events, networking, and speaking engagements, including creating supporting materials and table or booth setup/design
  • Establish and achieve goals related to timely posting of quality, engaging content on all social media
  • Regularly produce quality and relevant press releases, and build relationships with appropriate local media
  • Clerical and administrative tasks necessary to carrying out all assignments and responsibilities including but not limited to creating promotional materials, create and disseminate print and email newsletters, compliant and timely donation receipts, create and follow detailed calendars; database CRM management
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
  • A combination of 6+ years of relevant education, training, and experience may substitute for the educational requirement.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage nonprofit programs and all aspects of development process including growth and stewardship of funding sources, volunteers, and other support
  • Familiarity with grants management lifecycle
  • High-level writing and technology skills
  • Knowledge of the field of mental health and wellness, treatment delivery systems and challenges
  • Impeccable personal integrity and knowledge of HIPAA regulations pertaining to health care
  • Knowledge and appreciation for holistic and complementary therapies including animal therapy, nature therapy, and others
  • Personal characteristics: self-starter; creative problem-solver; able to manage competing deadlines; meticulous with details and follow-up
  • High-level interpersonal skills; persuasive and authentic written and verbal communication in both technical / data analysis and storytelling; public speaking skills
  • Physical abilities: must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds for set-up and breakdown of supplies and equipment for tabling and special events

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $64,480.00 - $75,000.00 per year
