The mission of Citizens Committee for New York City(CitizensNYC) is to help New Yorkers come together and improve the quality of life in their neighborhoods. Since 1975, CitizensNYC has invested in community leadership to bring New Yorkers together and gives them the resources and power to create lasting change across all five boroughs of New York City. We support our network of hundreds of grassroots civic leaders and neighborhood business owners by providing leadership development opportunities, facilitating connections with city, community, and philanthropic stakeholders, and making approximately $1M in micro-grants to support more than 300 projects each year.

Several times each year we host on-site volunteer engagements and large leadership development events, as well as two annual evening fundraisers. All staff are expected to participate in these events.
