Job description- Job Developer

PRIMARY DUTIES

1. Assess clients vocational and educational skills and interests.
2. Demonstrate to clients how to plan and prepare for jobs and develop job seeking skills (i.e. resume preparation, job search techniques, interviewing skills).
3. Facilitate group and individual discussions focusing on recovery and employment issues.
4. Identify and develop jobs suitable for clients and maintain a data bank of job listing provided by employers.
5. Collects data, prepares monthly narrative and statistical reports which describe vocational/job development activities.
6. Develop and provide job seeking workshops for clients.
7. Accompany clients who experience difficulty finding work on job search.
8. Maintain good working relationships with public and private agencies providing vocational assistance.
9. Compiles monthly, quarterly and annual statistical data and written reports of vocational, re-entry, and other program activities.
10. Meet with Program Coordinator and Program Manager to provide oral and written progress updates.
11. Contacts local employers to obtain jobs for Center Point clients.
12. Matches client skills with potential employers.
13. Regularly checks in with employers and clients in order to facilitate good working relationships.
14. Emphasizes client’s positive attributes and works with client to overcome barriers/deficits to employment.
15. Prepares client for vocational phase of treatment through regular counseling contacts.
16. Develops vocational treatment plan tailored to specific clients.
17. Performs other duties as assigned. May be assigned to other shifts, locations and duties based on agency needs.
MINIMUM STANDARDS

01. Consistently performs above standard all regular functions of the position (employee’s productivity is equal to salary earned)..
02. Shows initiative and eagerly assumes additional tasks and responsibilities beyond defined job duties.
03. Is organized, meets deadlines and is prompt and accurate with project assignments (submits work on time, is accurate and has not needed reminders).
04. Is responsive to and respectful of supervisor’s concerns, training, directions, assignments ( is agreeable, remembers deadlines, time frames and important issues and is accountable for actions and attitude; maintains fiscal responsibility in all areas).
05. Demonstrates effective communication skills with other staff, departments, and agencies. Seeks supervision prior to making key decisions; debriefs thoroughly and in a timely manner.
06. Demonstrates acquisition of new skills ( attends trainings, engages in school/certification process, learns new clinical/programmatic or fiscal skills).
07. Adheres to and upholds Center Point policies, procedures and philosophy/functions as a role model for Center Point concepts.
08. Maintains professional, courteous interaction with clients, the public, board members, and senior management.
09. Develops and provides job seeking workshops/develops and maintains job bank.
10. Collects data, prepares reports which specifically quantify and describe vocational and job development activities.

EDUCATION/VOCATIONAL PREPARATION

A Bachelor’s degree in one of the social sciences is required.
Knowledge of drug addiction, drug abuse patterns, treatment methodology is required. Experience with vocational counseling and hard to place populations in jobs is also required. Experience in working in a residential drug or alcohol treatment program is highly desirable. Recovering persons are encouraged to apply.
