General Thermodynamics, an API Heat Transfer business, is hiring a Senior Design Engineer to work in our Franklin, WI. location. GT is the premier manufacturer of heat exchangers for the Industrial and Mobile markets.

The Senior Design Engineer is responsible for providing engineering input for product development projects assigned including interfacing with the cross functional team consisting of engineering, operations (industrial engineering, production, and material procurement), sourcing, quality, service, and marketing. This position reports to the Engineering Director as part of TTP’s Engineering team.

Responsibilities:

  • Creation of new parts in the ERP system, manufacturing bill of materials, and 3D modeling / 2D prints for production and customer approval.
  • Manage the scope of work for mechanical design on customized projects, including planning, supervising project work, and verifying designs to ensure effective performance of the work.
  • Utilize project management skills to execute coordination, communication, and execution of processes with manufacturing, Purchasing, Application Engineering, Sales, and Customers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) equivalent from an accredited college or university required
  • 3D CAD design (e.g. Solidworks, AutoCad Inventor, Pro/Engineer) that includes modeling and automation systems design experience; Solidworks experience preferred.
  • Experience with project management methods, practices and tools including scoping, facilitations, delegation, and risk management best practices.
  • Experience with heat exchangers preferred
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
