Position Overview:

SmartyPants is looking for a motivated, dedicated, and detail-oriented individual for the Manager, Demand Planning & Financial Forecasting at a leading CPG start-up brand in preventative health. This position reports to the Associate Director of Finance and will be responsible for managing the demand forecast in partnership with the sales team. Major responsibilities will be to improve forecast accuracy with data backed insights and provide analysis on POS/inventory trends with retailers and reflect these impacts on the sales forecast and demand plan.

What You’ll Do:

• Manage SKU and Account level forecasts to achieve forecast accuracy objectives
• Facilitate meetings with Marketing, Finance, and Sales to ensure forecasting objectives are achieved, review potential risks/opportunities between the demand plan and financial plan, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to mitigate and reduce inventory risk
• Run monthly consensus meetings with cross-functional partners to align demand forecasts utilizing aggregated historical sales, seasonality and customer sales forecasts
• Evaluate real-time forecast consumption and consumer level POS information; take corrective action to optimize inventory in accordance with those trends
• Create, measure and report forecast accuracy and other KPIs relating to demand planning and supply chain for continuous improvement

• Assist Operations in reviewing forecasts against current inventory levels to identify potential excess and obsolesce inventory, partner with Sales and Finance to recommend channels for distribution
• Promote available to sell inventory to Sales, and support capitalizing on demand risks and opportunities
• Identify and resolve supply shortfalls by working with Supply Planning team to formulate actions plan to avert stock out or excess inventory
• Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for the sales forecasting and demand planning processes
• Create and implement effective monthly S&OP process to help cross-functional collaboration

• Quantify new product launches utilizing historical data and analyze post-launch to determine risks and opportunities
• Provide input to the development of inventory policies and parameters
• Monitor SKU trends and make recommendations to EOL existing items
• Ad hoc analysis as required by management

What You Have:

• 5+ years of experience in demand planning or sales and operations planning
• 4-year degree in business operations, finance, or related field
• CPG experience is a plus

• Experience with demand planning software or forecasting software (Kinaxis/Planful) a plus
• Excellent organizational skills
• Intermediate to advanced Excel usage
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; tactful in delivery of hard and soft messaging
• Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to interact with all personality types and behaviors; flexibility

• Possess a challenger mindset and an ability to think objectively and interpret meaningful themes from quantitative and qualitative data
• Detail oriented
• Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, fast paced environment

• The pay range for this position is $95,000-$115,000. SmartyPants Vitamins takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs. This position is bonus eligible. SmartyPants Vitamins employees are eligible to participate in our benefits plan. Office Environment:

SmartyPants is a fast-moving and mission-driven company that values transparency, excellence, and transformation. Our headquarters in Marina del Rey are a former architect's office, a two-story space where we work in an open environment with no elevator access to our 2nd floor offices. We have a communal garden, and we are dog-friendly, often with several pups in the office at any given time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as the working environment is open and has no doors or cubicles.
