JOB SUMMARY:

The Day Services Supervisor I directs the delivery of community and facility-based options to support adults with developmental disabilities to lead more independent and productive lives. Responsibilities include supervision of direct support professionals, establishing, implementing, and monitoring person-centered services plans, coordination of services, maintenance of record-keeping system, and compliance with applicable regulatory standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide supervision to direct support professionals to ensure effective and efficient delivery of services and opportunities for professional development. Provide for substitute/relief coverage to ensure uninterrupted services to individuals served.
  • In accordance with Agency policies and procedures, provide for individualized assessments, development of person-centered plans, monitoring of progress on plans, and maintenance of record-keeping systems that ensure individuals have opportunities and supports needed to be fully included in the community and engage in meaningful activities. Provide discharge/follow-up services in accordance with established policies and procedures to designated persons served leaving the IDC.
  • Direct the development of meaningful community and facility-based activities that support individuals to acquire, retain, or improve skills necessary to build positive social behavior, greater independence, employability, and enhancement of social networks.
  • Direct the daily operation of Day Support services to ensure compliance with agency policies and procedures and applicable federal, state, and local regulations and funding source requirements.
  • Monitor the delivery of service units in order to ensure maximization of available funding.
  • Secure physician’s orders and oversee the administration and documentation of medications to designated persons served in accordance with established procedures and regulatory standards.
  • Provide a leadership role in appropriate intervention in crises and emergencies to include the following: (a) Provide ongoing training and support to staff to recognize changes in behavior of persons served that may lead to crisis situations. (b) Serve as a resource to staff during crisis and emergency situations. ( c) Ensure that Agency protocol and processes are followed during crisis and emergency situations. (d)Acquire other resources as deemed necessary.

OTHER DUTIES:

  • Participate in the agency's accident-prevention program and actively promote safe practices in the delivery of services
  • Actively participate in meetings held for a variety of purposes including reviews for persons served, IDC administration, and training.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Effective oral and written communication skills

Good organizational and time management skills

Must be able to work independently with limited supervision AND must be able to work in a team environment and produce results in conjunction with fellow team members

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a human services field plus one year of documented experience working directly with individuals who have intellectual or other developmental disabilities is preferred

OR

Equivalent experience may be considered for 3 years of supervising DD services.

Valid driver's license with a safe driving record

Minimum one year of supervisory experience preferred

Mount Rogers Community Services, in following current CMS regulations, requires all New Hires to be Fully Vaccinated against COVID 19 or have a religious or medical exemption approved no later than the date of employment.
