Davenport Machine Set-up/Repair Job at Altra Industrial Motion Corp.
SUMMARY
This position exists to plan and perform the necessary operations to maintain, repair and rebuild Davenport Multi-Spindle Screw Machines
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan and perform the necessary operations to maintain, repair and rebuild Davenport Multi-Spindle Screw Machines and equipment according to specifications and standard procedures.
- Work closely with supervision and line coordinators to determine operations and priorities.
- Coordinate repairs with sub-contractors and spare parts distributors.
- Perform all duties with minimal supervision.
- Production, set-up and repair need as required.
- Provide training to other team members.
- Participate in continuous improvement events.
- Maintain accurate repair, machine status and capability records.
- Successfully complete and use Lock Out/Tag Out training.
- Ensure work area is maintained in a neat and orderly fashion.
- Wear personal protective equipment as required and follow all safety rules and regulations.
- Follow documented Work Instructions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
Critical Competencies
- Extensive knowledge of Multi -Spindle Screw Machines, mechanical components, and machine shop practices.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and measuring devices.
- Ability to assist Facility Maintenance with building or project issues.
- Successfully complete Forklift & Scissor Lift Training
- Basic math skills, including ability to use micrometers and other measuring devices.
- Proficiency in English language skills, including effective verbal and written communication.
Job Requirements:
Education and Experience Requirements
- A High School diploma or GED equivalency is preferred from an accredited institution.
- Previous repair experience with Multi-Spindle Screw Machines.
Physical Demand and Work Environment:
- Willingness and ability to work extended hours, including overtime and weekends as required.
- Travel as needed
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
- Ability to stand for long period of time.
