POSITION OVERVIEW EcoRise is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Data Specialist to join Gen:Thrive. Gen:Thrive is a mission-driven project aimed at advancing environmental education, climate resilience and equity across K-12 schools across the country. The Data Specialist will work closely with the Gen:Thrive team to support the creation of a national database, GIS maps and dashboards for a growing green school network. The ideal candidate will have experience working with large amounts of data and be able to manage their time effectively to meet deadlines.

Compensation & Hiring Timeline: Employment to begin early June, with anticipated workload of 10-20 hours a week. Hourly rate is $18-22 and hour, commensurate upon experience. This is a remote position with opportunities to meet in person, if based in Austin, Texas.

- Clean, transform and prepare data sets for upload into various systems and data visualization tools
- Review and ensure data for accuracy across internal and public-facing platforms
- Create, manage and organize spreadsheets, and associated documents
- Retrieve data and run reports as needed from our database
Requirements:
- Excellent proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets
- 2+ years of experience working in a data entry, data management or similar role
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent time management skills
- Strong communication skills
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to privacy policies and guidelines
