Location: San Diego, CA, Point Loma, 100% onsite initially with 1 day WFH remote

SSI is seeking a System Administrator to support a Navy Cybersecurity Network Defense contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage, install, configure, and provide for reliable operations of C2LAN and LAN/WAN and intranet network infrastructure devices to include documentation of changes and plans.
  • Perform testing and deliver vulnerability findings, tests, analyses, and recommendations to mitigate vulnerabilities to the computer systems, applications, and supporting hardware, and resolve issues when a computer system goes down or malfunctions.
  • Answer cybersecurity technical queries and reset passwords, etc., manage system access controls and permissions, and assist with license management.
  • Install, configure, and administer Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI/CD) environments, cloud services (e.g., infrastructure as a service, platform as a service, software as a service), cybersecurity security devices (e.g., firewalls, intrusion protection systems, security information and event management), web services (e.g., Apache, Internet Information Services), user directory services (e.g., Lightweight Directory Access Protocol, Active Directory), and perform capacity management, and configuration management.
  • Perform replacement of new hardware and software, document system configurations and changes, provide technical engineering and design review for new server systems, applications, infrastructure, and hardware, and identify and report key performance indicators.
  • Ensure compliance with the DoD Risk Management Framework and C3F Cybersecurity Program (5239 instruction series) as well as other cybersecurity directives and mandates.
  • Remediate vulnerabilities, manage Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) compliance, adhere to Communications Task Orders (CTOs), meet Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) requirements, assist with preparations for network inspections.
  • Perform validation and analysis of configurations and modifications, authorized by change control boards and other technical review bodies.
Requirements:


REQUIRED SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
:

  • Must have an active Secret security clearance
  • Sec+ certification
  • Background in Linux, Windows, and Networking
  • Server skills to include at least one of the following: Windows server, UNIX, Red Hat Linux, Solaris 10 skills
  • Networking knowledge: OSI layers, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VLANs and understanding of IP routing
  • Experience configuring and maintaining CISCO firewalls, routers, and switches
  • Proven ability to monitor systems (ie. Solar Winds) successfully and efficiently
  • Experience with virtualization (VMware)

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT related field
  • Prior Military experience a plus
  • Networking certification such as: CCNA
