FoxGuard Solutions is looking for a flexible, self-starter to join our team as a Field Technician. You would work closely with our customers as well as other field service team members to deliver maximum customer satisfaction. On a given day, you could diagnose errors, assist with onsite maintenance, or even work with the customer remotely to help provide solutions based on their technical needs. This position will give you hands-on access to industrial computing in several different types of environments. To be successful, you must have a strong understanding of desktop operating systems, the drive to document and follow detailed processes, and the willingness to always expand your knowledge through hands-on experience, certifications, and training. What will you be doing?

• Expected to travel both internationally and domestic. Average travel expected to be 50% or more. Some engagements to be accomplished virtually through remote access to customer systems
• Use a variety of tools to apply operating system and application patches to Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs) and servers (Microsoft and Linux) in OT (Operational Technology) environments
• Apply updated firmware to networking equipment
• Assist with backups of HMIs, Servers, and Networking equipment
• Troubleshoot, on site and remotely, issues with patching, operating system issues, and hardware failures. This would include reviewing event logs, Windows update logs, and researching error codes for resolution
• Assist customers with meeting their NERC/CIP requirements (documentation, patching reports, etc.)
• Professional conduct during all customer engagements when representing FoxGuard; understand and operate within the limitations for each engagement (Such as no internet access, no recording equipment, etc.)
• Recognize when to cease activities and seek guidance for how to proceed before potentially damaging customer’s equipment
• Provide quality documentation for customer reports and end user instructions
• Maintain technical understanding of current product set, including customer specific products
• Maintain basic working knowledge of cyber-security tools and their capabilities
• Participate in creating and improving internal process and procedure documentation
• Participate in the continuous improvement process at FoxGuard Solutions
• Must be willing to work as part of a team to solve issues or road blocks
• Assist other departments as needed which will further skill development

All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for this opportunity:

• Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Certifications, or the equivalent, of CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, and/or the ability to obtain one requested relevant certification within the first 6 months of hire
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to read and understand technical instructions
• Prior experience with Windows
• Possession of valid driver’s license
• Possession of, or ability to gain within 3 months of hire, a valid passport for international travel
• Possession of, or ability to gain, the TSA Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) for site access

The following may be used to differentiate candidates who apply for this position:

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university with preference given to those with a minimum of two years related experience
• CompTIA Network+ and/or CompTIA Security+ certification
• Proven Field Service experience
• Prior experience with VMware and/or Microsoft Hyper-V
• Prior experience with Linux
