Job Description
All candidates must possess a real desire to lead an elite team of customer care professionals within our diverse airport environment. Successful candidates must be flexible in scheduling and be available to work a varied schedule based on need. Successful candidates will possess strong interpersonal skills and have a demonstrated track record as a leader and share in our common goal- to deliver the highest level of service here at this airport. Supervisors are leaders, mentors and coaches first, disciplinarians last.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Able to stand on your feet for extended periods of time
Able to lift and/or move items up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to climb, bend and kneel
Must be able to use your fingers/hands to use a keyboard or tablet
Must be comfortable driving a 15 passenger company van and transporting staff and equipment around the airport.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required
Ability to use computer equipment, including Excel and Word programs
Demonstrated proficiency in report writing
Possess a valid New York Drivers License (ONLY)
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be authorized to work in the United States
A minimum of 1 year of customer service or sales related experience is a requirement, airport customer service experience a plus
Must have a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience
Must be able to work under stressful situations and have the ability to multitask
Bi-lingual a plus, but not required
Must have a professional appearance
On-Call Supervisors must be on-call at least 3 days a week.
Must be flexible enough to switch days off if there are any planned/unplanned Airport Emergency situations such as AirTrain Shutdowns.

NOTE: To work at the airport, you must be able to obtain a Port Authority I.D. You will be required to meet all Port Authority requirements.

Experience

Required
  • 1 year(s): A minimum of 1 year of customer service or sales related experience is a requirement, airport customer service experience a plus
  • 2 year(s): Must have a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience

Education

  • High School or better
