Summary:

GEC is a full service environmental company specializing in environmental construction, hazardous and non hazardous waste disposal, in-plant services, and transportation that provides services directly to small quantity generators, large quantity generators, engineers, and consultants on a wide variety of environmental projects.

We are looking for an experienced Customer Service Representative to create orders in GEC operational software, prints regulatory paperwork, maintains client related databases, communicates directly with clients, and works interdepartmentally regarding requested services.

The ideal candidate must have strong organization and time management skills in order to set priorities and meet deadlines.

Primary Duties:


  • Create work orders for all scheduled jobs, coordinate interdepartmentally to ensure completeness and accuracy of required documents to perform service prior to use by operations department.
  • Print regulatory paperwork associated with waste pickups and field service work.
  • Reconcile work orders upon return from completing work in the field. Ensure completeness and accuracy during reconciliation of completed orders in WasteLinq, the company’s operations software.
  • Set-up new customers that result from incoming service requests or from outside sales department and ensure customer information is complete accurately input into WasteLinq and Quickbooks.
  • Respond timely and accurately to customer inquiries and process order requests according to established standards.
  • Develop relationships with all accounts and work to grow revenues by working with sales department on marketing strategies to existing and new clients.
  • Perform necessary research and work inter-departmentally to escalate and resolve problems.
  • Performs necessary record keeping activities including but not limited to manifest filing and box tracking.
  • Maintain adequate supply of regulatory paperwork such as manifests, BOL documents, labels, placards, markings, etc. required to perform services.
  • Coordinate with and assist Accounting Department on job costing.
  • Process vendor invoices and enter costing data into operational software.
  • General clerical duties such as answering phones, faxing documents, filing, and office organization.
  • Other related duties as assigned by Director of Operations.

Knowledge:


  • The knowledge of basic hazmat regulation.
  • The knowledge of RCRA and how to apply it to the paperwork.
  • The knowledge of Department of Transportation rules and regulations for our industry.

Skills:

  • Strong command of Microsoft Office applications. Experience with WasteLinq and QuickBooks would be an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Above average comprehension skills to understand instructions and safety rules both verbal and written.

Abilities:

  • The ability to be detail oriented.
  • The ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal with customers, suppliers, supervisors, drivers, employees and the general public.

  • Office and warehouse environment. Drug free workplace requires lifestyle commitment.

Physical Demands:

Normal use of eyesight, speech and hearing. Lifting and moving of up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis is required. Must be able to pass a 10-panel drug screen. The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job


Education
:

  • High school diploma or GED.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1-year administrative experience. Prior experience in environmental, remediation, and /or fleet operations preferred.
