POSITION SUMMARY

Interact with customers to provide information in response to inquiries about services and to resolve complaints. Support planning of trucks to meet freight, customer and company needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Confer with customers to provide information about products and services, to take additional freight or to obtain details of complaints.
  • Keep records of customer interactions and transactions, recording details of inquiries, complaints, and comments, as well as actions taken.
  • Check to ensure that appropriate changes were made to resolve customers' problems.
  • Refer unresolved customer grievances to designated departments for further investigation.
  • Obtain and examine all relevant information to assess validity of complaints and to determine possible causes and resolutions.
  • Solicit sale of new or additional freight.
  • Recommend improvements in service or billing methods and procedures to prevent future problems.
  • Assist in maintaining trailer pools.
  • Assist in maintaining trailer and tractor service standards
  • Assist with planning trucks to service customer and company needs.
  • Assist with setting load and delivery appointments when necessary.
  • Accept load tenders via EDI or other means.
  • Manually enter orders into Innovative system.
  • Monitor and maintain superior service levels.
  • Solicit customer orders from Brokers as needed.
  • Assist with training associates to specifics of your customers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; required

Experience:

  • 1+ years of transportation customer service or account manager; required

Computer Skills:

  • AS400 experience; a plus
  • Microsoft Office Suite, Innovation
  • Able to learn and use proprietary software.
