Summary

MISSION STATEMENT: “To serve our Customers courteously and enthusiastically through prompt and accurate delivery of quality products.”

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Selling of custom products for distributor to business, industrial establishments and individuals.
  • Careful review of customer’s RFQ (Request for Quotation). Needs to be able to determine if Farmers Copper Ltd can competitively quote the customer. Salesperson will determine pricing and lead time for the RFQ. Salesperson will be required to return priced RFQ in a timely manner, or if Farmers Copper Ltd is unable to quote, Salesperson is required to kindly return the RFQ as a no bid.
  • On order placement, Salesperson is required to enter the order into the computer database. Salesperson must conduct a contract review to verify whether the material quoted meets or exceeds customer requirements as stated on their written or verbal purchase order. Sales order must be carefully reviewed prior to printing order to the shop floor personnel for processing.
  • Estimates date of delivery to customer based on knowledge of own firm's production and mill/vendor delivery schedules. Custom Part Sales Representative entering order, will review CNC schedule, determine availability, and quote to customer the delivery date.
  • Part Sales rep will calculate amount of time it takes to process the job being entered, and enter it into the schedule.
  • Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.
  • Salesperson is required to develop and maintain business relationships with customer for future business. A professional business etiquette is required for telephone calls, emails, and personal appearances.
  • Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries and quality issues.
  • May attends trade shows.
  • Part Salesman are required to provide legible prints to coordinator or machine operators that will be making parts.
  • Part Salesperson will send e-mails, including all parties involved on sub contract, or special request orders.
  • Sales will request autocad dwg or dxf files for any parts that need to be cut or formed in the shop.
  • Part Sales will get with Operations Mgr or purchasing supervisor to purchase any special tools needed for a particular order.
  • Salesperson is required to keep an organized work space, filing paperwork in a manner the order / quote can be found and customer taken care of in their absence.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). To have knowledge, or the ability to read mechanical drawings. Must possess the ability to learn the latest version of Autocad.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software; Order processing systems.

Other Qualifications

Must have excellent organizational and writing skills.
