GateWay Community College is now hiring for a Custodian role! The Custodian plays a vital role in keeping our campus a safe environment and making a great first impression on our students, staff, and faculty. This position performs routine and special cleaning of facilities and buildings to ensure they are clean, sanitary, and in a safely operating condition. cleans restrooms and outdoor patios; waxes and strips the floors; extracts carpets; completes minor repairs; and assists with various event set-ups.

40% - Sweeps, mops, waxes, and vacuums floors and/or carpets; completes furniture reconfiguration; cleans restrooms, locker rooms, offices, and the childcare center; inspects and performs minor repairs on equipment, furniture, and fixtures; empties trash; moves furniture and equipment; and is responsible for assisting with event set up.

30% - Washes and cleans walls, windows, vents, and outdoor patios and staircases; power washes outdoor equipment; and removes trash from buildings and offices.

20% - Keeps assigned tools and/or equipment in clean and safe working condition; maintains custodial closets; maintains product inventory and delivery; works at other locations when needed.

10% - Aligns assigned tasks and works with all applicable policies and procedures; performs other duties as assigned.

High School Diploma or GED

A. Experience working in a college or school environment with a diverse population of students.

B. Experience providing customer service to a wide variety of people in a medium-large facility.

C. Experience working with industrial cleaning methods and chemicals

D. Experience operating custodial equipment (Walk Behind, Auto Scrubber, Side by Side Scrubber, Extractor, etc.)

E. Experience with an online work order system (School Dude, Maintain, etc.)

• Possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D driver's license is required; must meet minimum standards regarding driving: http://business.maricopa.edu/risk-management/motor-vehicle-usage/motor-vehicle-driving-requirements
• Will be required to travel or be assigned to all GateWay locations
• May require some evenings or weekends
• May require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen
• May be required to lift or carry up to #40-50 lbs
