Crisis Specialist

We are hiring Weekend Crisis Specialists!! This position will require employees to work Saturday and/or Sunday from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm.

The Crisis Specialist will be required to answer calls and provide mobile services when necessitated to resolve crisis situations. Crisis employees will train at the main office located at 100 New Salem Road, Uniontown PA, 15401 but after a successful training period will be able to work from home. All crisis employees must be able to pick up the Crisis assigned vehicle kept at the main office to attend a mobile within 30 minutes.

The Crisis Specialist would be responsible for providing comprehensive mental health assessments, exercise clinical judgement and demonstrate the use of evidenced base practices to ensure needs are identified and are addressed.

The Crisis Specialist provides education and connections to community resources such as homeless shelters, inpatient and outpatient mental health and substance use treatment providers, inpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitative services, case management services and any variety of services that can meet the unique needs of the persons we serve!

Crisis Specialists are expected to work with individuals in the development of a crisis plan, utilize crisis de-escalation techniques as needed, be an empathetic presence for persons experiencing a mental health crisis, facing relapse from substances, fleeing domestic violence or those acclimating to the community after their release from jail. The Crisis Specialist must also demonstrate strong communication and time management skills, due to the sometimes fast paced nature of this job.

To be eligible for a position employees must have a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED with 12 semester credit hours in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology or other social science and 2 years of experience in public or private human services with one year of mental health direct care experience.

In additional all employees are required to have an FBI Clearance, PA State Criminal Clearance, Child Abuse Certification, Computer Basic Competency and a Current Driver’s License with none or minimal infraction history that is within standards deemed acceptable by CRCSI Insurance Carrier
