Credit & Collections Specialist
Position Summary
This entry level position is a great place to begin and grow your career!
Are you great with people? Do you enjoy reaching goals and learning new skills? The Credit Specialists are primarily responsible for collecting past due payments from our customers and enforce collection policies using diplomacy and tact.
What you can expect from us: Health, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401k, vacation, sick, volunteer time off
Responsibilities (include, but not limited to the following)

  • Generate and review aging reports
  • Initiate collection calls
  • Maintain notes in the Redi Carpet System
  • Process credit card payments
  • Approve credit releases
  • Place accounts on credit hold
  • Send 10-day demand letters
  • File liens
  • Forward uncollectable accounts to Corporate Credit Manager for legal resolution

Important Goals and Deadlines

  • Over 60-day receivables at or less than 15% of total aged balance
  • Begin collection calls for any account when payment status reaches “45 days-slow”
  • Immediately forward bankruptcy notifications to Corporate Credit Manager

Qualifications

  • 0-3 years of credit and collection experience
  • Good negotiating skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Persistence
  • Ability to understand and communicate collection policies and payment terms
  • Basic computer skills especially MS Excel, MS Word and Outlook
  • High school diploma or GED
