The need for therapy services for university students has exponentially grown over the last several years. Pillars of Wellness University Counseling Program functions to assist universities with coordinating external student referrals when there is a need for specialized services and/or long-term treatment. Our primary goals are to provide university students with prompt and compassionate mental health care and to provide education about effective treatments for the university student population. As an agency we are focused on creating an ideal fit: clinically our aim is to ensure the optimal fit between client and therapist, in supervision we aim to identify the appropriate fit between supervisor and supervisee and as an agency we want to make sure this is the best fit for you! Our therapists work collaboratively or under the supervision of our clinical director in an eclectic role with many potential growth areas. Responsibilities

Reporting to our Director of University Counseling, the University Counseling Therapist is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating clients experiencing mental health and psychological distress. The University Counseling Therapist should have knowledge of stressors and challenges that may occur for university students, as well as have basic knowledge of university resources and services. This position will be primarily remote, as we collaborate with universities throughout the state of Indiana and Illinois.

Additional Responsibilities:  Providing evidence-based mental health counseling and wellness coaching to students.  Identifying appropriate treatment based on students' experiences and individual needs.  Ensure the appropriate fit between client and clinician  Working with students to set SMART goals and develop individualized treatment plans.  Giving students adequate resources to gain insight through a strength-based approach to treatment.  Provide assessments and assist students with career indecisiveness.  Identifying social, emotional, and cultural barriers that may inhibit a student's psychological wellbeing.  Ensuring continuity of care for students by collaborating with university counseling center staff.  Conducting group therapy sessions for students based on specific needs (e.g., anger management, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, etc.).

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
