This role in summary

The Cost & Quality Integrator will identify and lead Projects Planning and detailed scheduling, by working with all Tech Teams in Laundry Horizontal Axis (HA) Platform and with the appropriate cross functional partners to ensure time-to-time alignment. This person will integrate within engineering, manufacturing on scoping and execution of key cost projects and with regional quality on the scoping and execution of key quality improvement initiatives.


Additionally, the person will lead projects of different complexity levels (from simple to complex with multi-plant delivery), assembling the team and leading regular meetings throughout the project, lead Project Gates reviews and effectively communicates with Global Strategic Sourcing (GSS) and New Product Readiness (NPR) partners, define and coordinate the expenses, capital and resources needed for each project, and accurately track their spending with a bi-weekly frequency.


There will also be end to end accountability on assigned projects, updating project status and Line of Sight (LOS) for savings and implementation regularly as well as to present LOS progression with rationale and project status updates to Management in the scheduled routines.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Manage System Integration and project management in Cost saving and Quality improvement Projects.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing in identifying key and strategic initiatives to deliver cost and quality improvements.
  • Work closely with procurement in developing views of risks and opportunities associated with product cost in developing new quality initiatives.
  • Ensure project development activities are completed on time, meeting all requirements, including cost, quality and performance targets to support the project plans and project execution.
  • Responsible for system level design/cost/quality/time trade-offs and technical decision making alignment among technical teams to ensure project delivery.
  • Lead specific gates and milestones for the project.
  • Ensures the parts/components can be integrated in a flawless way to deliver the expected performance outputs identified by the project team.
  • Responsible for driving Product Leadership through the WPD (Whirlpool Product Development) process driving the project through specific milestones and gates.
  • Responsible for critical KPIs such as Project Predictability in terms of Project implementation dates &; total value created as Cost or Quality savings.

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • 2+ years of experience in Technical Project Management in areas such as development and execution, project engineering, system integration or manufacturing interaction

Preferred skills and experiences

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Material Science or Chemical Engineering
  • Experience in tooling and basic processes such as injection molding and metal stamping
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma foundation
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and influence other team members for results achievement
  • Strong motivation and ability to drive things through independently
  • Analytical Skills for interpreting data and test reports
  • Sense of urgency and capability to work under pressure for multiple tasks are needed requirements
  • Strong attitude to the problem solving and to the critical thinking, proactive behavior and capability to respect work commitment and deadlines

Additional information

Employees in this role can work a hybrid schedule of three core days in office and two days remote. This enables employees to come together to collaborate in-person and gives employees the added flexibility to work remotely
