CANTEX has an open position for a newly created hands-on Manufacturing Cost Accountant located (on-site) at our corporate headquarters in Fort Worth, TX. Reporting to the Director of Accounting, the Cost Accountant will play a critical role in maintaining standard costs and its ongoing analysis. This role will be a key member of the accounting team in providing costing support and in other accounting areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Ø Develop and maintain standard cost accounting system and analyze variances.

Ø Analyze costs incurred, cost of sales and calculation of inventory value including various external filings.

Ø Recommend changes to the company’s processes and policies to reduce cost and

maximize profit

Ø Develop and prepare various daily, weekly, and monthly management reports

Ø Prepares journal entries in support of the month-end close process. Prepares account reconciliations.

Ø Perform month-end close inventory related functions

Ø Perform life cycle cost-benefit analysis

Ø Analyze inventory valuations

Ø Monitor unit cost variance

Ø Implement cost standards for materials and labor

Ø Prepare cost of goods sold and production reports

Ø Reconcile beginning raw materials, work-in-progress and finished-goods stock, assist in the development and preparation weekly/monthly MUV

Ø Prepare all inventory-related journal entries at month end

Ø Define various product and operational costs

Ø Preparing audit reports in support of month end activities

Ø Work with external auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at year- end

Ø Supporting other company accounting cost and inventory functions as needed

Experience & Knowledge:

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

· 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in manufacturing cost accounting with knowledge in activity-based costing.

· Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP

· Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all level of an organization

· Proactive, self-starter with good judgment and ability to work unsupervised

· The cost accountant must maintain an above-average level of accuracy, be organized, possess problem-solving skills, work well with fellow employees and vendors/customers.

· Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results

· Knowledge of employee relationship building and performance management techniques

· Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with other financial systems. Experience with JD Edwards, QlikView, or Bottomline Technologies is desired and a strong plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
