What you’ll be doing...

Within Verizon’s Corporate Strategy team, the Strategy Development and Execution team works with key stakeholders across the organization to develop long-term strategies, drive portfolio evolution and increase shareholder value. Through rigorous analysis and a structured process, we answer critical questions for Verizon’s executive team, Board of Directors and other Verizon stakeholders.

The primary focus of this role will be on inorganic / M&A strategy, collaborating with Corporate Development, others in Corporate Strategy, and various stakeholders across broader Verizon, to perform M&A-related strategic analysis (i.e. fit assessment, potential target ideation, etc.). In addition, this role will perform additional strategic analysis on an ad hoc basis.

In this role, a successful candidate will be

  • Performing research and analysis, synthesizing data to uncover insights for the company and develop critical strategic recommendations, particularly around potential transactions (M&A, complex partnerships, etc.
  • Developing perspectives on key industry challenges and potential opportunities through competitive analysis and market research.
  • Evaluating potential acquisition targets and new inorganic business initiatives from both a quantitative and qualitative perspective.
  • Crafting compelling and cogent presentations to senior leadership at Verizon to articulate findings and strategies.
  • Driving consensus and alignment with stakeholders and executives across the organization, including domain experts, around key strategic questions related to potential transactions

This role will have significant exposure to new markets and technologies (i.e. 5G, Open RAN, MEC, IoT, etc.).

Where you'll be working…

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.


What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the time.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Experience in quantitative fields such as corporate strategy, corporate development, M&A, strategy consulting, investment banking, or buy-side investment management.
  • Ability to learn, adapt and synthesize information quickly.
  • Knowledge of global telecom issues: technologies, value chain, supply chain, ecosystems, players, industry dynamics, geopolitics.
  • Excellent quantitative analysis and financial modeling skills.
  • Comfort with financial accounting / corporate finance, having the ability to drive significant insights from financial statements.
  • Good communication skills (presentation, written and verbal).
  • Passion for arriving at the answer through a combination of independent research, financial analysis, competitive benchmarking and manipulation of data; always fact-based in forming hypotheses.

For part-timers, your coverage will vary as you may be eligible for some of these benefits depending on your individual circumstances.

If you are hired into a New York work location, the compensation range for this position is between $133,000 and $248,000 based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
