Position Description

The Corporate Relations Manager (CRM) is responsible for establishing and fostering strong relationships with corporate partners and foundations by leveraging sponsorships and grants and exploring new opportunities and partnerships. As the primary point of contact for corporate relations, the CRM will work closely with the COO to identify and pursue opportunities that align with the organization's mission and values while also demonstrating the value proposition to potential partners. This will include work in the multiple sclerosis disease space and consideration of opportunities in other diseases and conditions.

The Corporate Relations Manager is a full-time, year-round position with an applicable benefits package.

Position Responsibilities

  • Responsible for annual revenue generation of $1.5 million.
  • Develop and strengthens relationships with pharmaceutical and other corporate partners to secure funding and drive revenue growth for the organization.
  • Drive our mission, vision, and program successes with our partners so that they see the value in our partnerships and ROI for their organizations.
  • Work collaboratively and creatively with the Chief Operating Officer to develop and execute new partnerships or special projects with pharmaceutical companies, including proposal development, submission, and sponsorship fulfillment.
  • Manage the grant program, which includes oversight of the application process to various funding institutions such as foundations, corporations, government agencies, pharmaceutical companies, and individuals.
  • Compile compelling content, review and edit proposals, and develop and update boilerplates and other related materials to ensure compliance with funding guidelines, parameters, and procedures.
  • Ensure that all corporate and pharmaceutical relationships are tracked appropriately so that the relationship, commitments, fulfillment, and outcome metrics are easily accessible. Develop and maintain ongoing records, in conjunction with Chief Operating Officer, including a grant application calendar for all grant requests.
  • Define recognition benefits for grantors at various levels of support and effectively communicate coordination for fulfillment through the comprehensive utilization of organizational resources.
  • Ensure the highest level of stewardship by providing regular communication, engagement opportunities, and recognition to corporate partners.
  • Create and update yearly content slide decks to be used for partner and Board of Directors.
  • Make data-driven recommendations to improve outcomes and meet revenue targets.
  • Actively participate in job-related community events and organizations where there is the potential to cultivate funding relationships and promote effective public relations/marketing opportunities.
  • Regularly attend meetings, seminars, and forums related to the field of multiple sclerosis and fundraising.
  • Attend professional conferences for face-to-face meetings with Pharma partners – such as ACTRIMS (Americas Committee for Treatment and Research in MS), AAN (American Academy of Neurology), CMSC (Consortium of MS Centers and others as appropriate.

Qualifications

  • Comprehensive account management skills and experience is required, including but not limited to, short and long-term planning, oral and written communication skills, and marketing.
  • Bachelor’s degree and three to five years of sales/account management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work wit key account representatives through finalized agreements and funding.
  • Proven tracking record writing and submitting grant applications.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices associated with effective corporate fundraising, development, foundations, and grants is desired.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time while paying strict attention to detail.
  • Excellent listening and presentation skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Working knowledge of Blackbaud and Raisers Edge
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic team environment.
