The Corporate Manager of Process Improvement is an integral part of the team responsible for helping to establish a standard Lean process improvement system across CHS. The Manager will consult, coach, and teach leaders across the health system regarding how to create and sustain improvements across clinical services. The Manager will help leaders build and refine their problem solving skills by coaching them through process improvements with a focus on sustainability. This person will support improvement initiatives designed to align with improving quality outcomes,
revenue enhancement, and profitability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Manager will be part of a team responsible for teaching and coaching administrators, clinicians and front-line staff on the application of process improvement methods. They should be able to develop collaborative relationships with corporate and hospital personnel, staff, and physicians to ensure a continued focus on improved operations.
  • The Manager should be comfortable with improvement data, they will coach leaders through metrics development, and will assist in tracking the impact of the improvement program.
  • The Manager will assist in the skills development for hospitals and health systems using A3 thinking, coaching, and teaching, training techniques.
  • This person will act as an internal consultant to the organization helping it meet corporate goals related to quality outcomes, revenue enhancement, and profitability using process improvement methods.
  • This person will assist the Director of Process Improvement in implementing a process improvement program and carry out improvement initiatives designed to hardwire process improvement into daily operations.
  • Observe professional ethics in maintaining confidential information concerning the personal, financial, and medical or employment status of patients and staff of Community Health Systems.
  • Up to 50% travel may be required at times depending on PI training and development needs across the enterprise.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare, business, healthcare administration, engineering or another health or business field required.
  • Master's degree in a related field preferred.

Experience:

  • A minimum of two to four years of experience applying process improvement methodologies
  • An understanding of adult learning and change management
  • Experience leading Process Improvement focused on value stream mapping, rapid improvement events, metrics analysis and financial outcomes reporting
  • Reasoning ability to include: being able to learn quickly, define problems, track data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Experience in healthcare or a related industry
  • Application of A3 or PDSA improvement tools
  • Experience with a Daily Management System

License / Registration / Certification:

  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma, or similar project management, or two - four years of on the job experience applying process improvement methodologies required.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher preferred.

Required Computer Skills:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Google Suite products or ability to quickly learn to proficiency.
  • Knowledge of computer systems, information systems, information management, and data analysis
