Minimum Requirements:

Position Description:

Manage daily operations of assigned section of the Office of Study Abroad and International Travel. Including the management of faculty, staff, and group international travel as well as student related issues (e.g., registration, financial aid, tuition remission, transcript processing, drop/add forms, academic standing, international travel insurance).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide advising to prospective students on study abroad requirements and procedures, financial aid resources and related student services.
  • Recruit students to participate in study abroad.
  • Partner with departments concerning policies, procedures, and regulations related to faculty-led student trips
  • Provide advising to faculty/staff on international travel policies and procedures.
  • Maintain currency of student affairs policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Respond to faculty, staff, and student inquiries regarding all aspects of international travel.
  • Assist students with finding additional scholarships, editing scholarship essays, and �recommenders for scholarships.
  • Monitor world events and government advisory lists
  • Communicate international safety concerns with current and future travelers
  • Collaborate with UofL contacts concerns international safety concerns
  • Serve as certifying agents for programs.
  • Prepare appeals to travel to high risk areas for director
  • Train departments on policies and procedures for individual and group international travel
  • Prepare international travel documents for provost designee signature
  • Direct the processing of applications, records and decisions, and serve as a resource person to students and academic units/programs on study abroad and international travel policies and procedures for the Office of Study Abroad and International travel.
  • Maintain appropriate follow-up communication with faculty/staff/students regarding the status of their application for study abroad and int'l travel
  • Develop� and conduct events such as the study abroad fair, pre-departure, and re-entry.
  • Resolve transfer credit scheduling conflicts both domestically and abroad.
  • Oversee the maintenance of international travel/student records, which includes monitoring academic progress, tracking student enrollment (domestic/international), track location and dates of travel, and purchase of insurance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a study abroad office
  • One or more semesters living, working, or studying abroad
  • Proficiency in a second language
  • Experience with using Terra Dotta's Study Abroad, Travel Registry, and Alert Traveler modules.
  • Marketing certificate or work experience.
  • Working knowledge of the Standards of Good Practice for Education Abroad as set by the Forum on Education Abroad.�
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint
  • International Travel experience, living/working/studying/internship
  • Public Speaking
Salary to Commensurate with Experience

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
