The Controls Engineer II role will provide project engineering and support of automation, process control, and MES systems.

What you'll need:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with two years of experience, or four plus years’ commensurate experience.
  • Proficiency in advanced PLC programming.
  • Experience with Automation control design and implementation.
  • Working knowledge in AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
  • Working knowledge of HMI or programming languages.
What we'd prefer:
  • Six plus years’ commensurate experience.
  • Experience with several PLC languages including Simatic S7.
  • Good working knowledge of Power Distribution and AC/DC motor drives.
  • Steel plant or equivalent industrial experience.
  • Knowledge of Industrial LANs and field bus networking.
  • Wonderware MMI, Visual Basic, and SQL programming experience.
  • Project management experience.
  • Solid mathematics and physical science background. Capable of modeling physical systems in software.
What you'll do:
  • Work as part of Project Teams.
  • Control System Hardware design and configuration.
  • Program, commission, and debug PLC programs.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce cost, increase efficiency, and improve quality.
  • Assist maintenance and production employees with troubleshooting.
  • Acquire knowledge of existing systems and remain current with systems upgrades.
