SALARY: $92,000 - $97,000 per year

JOB SUMMARY:
The Controller focuses on maximizing return on finances by establishing policies, procedures, controls and reporting systems. The Controller also manages the budget, makes recommendations on financial matters, works with banking agencies and oversees staff to protect the company’s financial well-being. In addition, this position is accountable for managing the monthly close as well as all financial reporting.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Establishes control policies and maintains accountability for policy alignment
  • Prepares budget reporting and provides analysis on spending habits regarding bank balances
  • Meets with staff regularly to ensure compliance to policies and procedures
  • Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data
  • Prepares reports, makes presentations, and contributes to decision-making.
  • Coordinates the input and output of the accounting system including all required reports.
  • Maintain strong relationships within the Brewery and all its departments. Act as a point person for all financial, budget, system and process questions.
  • Ensure all financial statements are in compliance with International Financial Standards Reporting for craft operations.
  • Provide month-end closing reports regarding local chart of accounts and COGNOS reporting, reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts.
  • Complete monthly TTB and state tax filings; maintain solid knowledge of laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to delegate tasks and lead others.
  • Thorough knowledge of small business accounting practices and standards
  • Knowledge of FASB standards
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and customers.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Ability to provide accurate and timely financial reporting around the month end close.
  • Maintain solid knowledge of accounting laws and regulations on a federal, state, and local level.
  • Working knowledge of OBEER ERP a plus.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School of GED equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (preferred), Finance, Business, or related field.
  • CPA preferred but not required.
  • 3+ years of accounting and analytical experience providing actionable information to senior management.
