Your New Role...

  • The INS Content Producer is responsible for creating and curating written, audio and video/image-based content across all platforms. The ideal candidate will integrate with other producers/editors to produce projects and content from kick-off to delivery and will be point of contact to clients and customers. The Content Producer/Editor will need to liaise effectively with members of the in-house editorial team to ensure all content is on brand, consistent in style and quality.
  • The Content Producer is crucial to the business partnerships of CNN International Newsource. They are responsible for acquiring content and editorial information from our international affiliates and sharing that with CNN networks. They also manage sharing appropriate CNN content with international affiliates. Maintaining consistent contact and good relationships with affiliates and the various departments inside CNN is essential.
  • The Content Producer role requires strong writing and video editing skills. Being able to react quickly and effectively to changing situations, client requests and breaking news are also key. They must demonstrate understanding of what show producers need and want – inside CNN and around the world in other markets. They should be qualified to assist peers in the newsroom with story ideas and gathering information for our newscasts and digital platform.
  • The best candidates for this role will be editorially sharp, with aggressive news gathering and strong communication skills.

Role Accountabilities...

  • The Content Producer will be responsible for lining up the daily rundown for global affiliates, editing articles, fact checking and proof reading. The job requires attention to detail and the ability to effectively and enthusiastically perform all assigned editorial duties – including write scripts, editorial notes and advisories to global affiliates.
  • The INS Content Producer will assist peers in the newsroom with story ideas and gathering information for our newscasts and digital platform. They are also responsible for mining material from CNN Newsgathering as well as CNN affiliates and partners for segments or key interviews with newsmaker/analysts, among others.

Qualifications & Experience...

  • Proven ability to write and edit in a friendly, conversational tone. Excellent editing skills, with an understanding of requirement for creating shareable content.
  • Excellent communication skills and time management; able to respond promptly and professionally to editors’/project managers’ queries and directives.
  • Proven delivery of quality content in a fast-paced environment. Function as the liaison between internal and external stakeholders. Outstanding organizational skills, able to handle pressure situations. Eye for punctuation and grammar is crucial.
  • College degree in Journalism, English, or Communication is preferred.
