Stewart/Perry is an employee-centered construction company offering general contracting and construction management services, building mostly in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic states. We are looking for an experienced Construction Project Manager to plan and supervise a wide range of construction projects from start to finish.

While we build many large-scale projects, there are many ways we still operate like a smaller shop. Our project managers can influence every aspect of the projects they own, from estimating through punch lists, giving everyone a real sense of ownership. We like to see our PMs involved in new business efforts, and we value long-term relationships and repeat builds with our customers.

Our project managers will organize and oversee construction procedures and ensure they are completed in a timely and efficient manner. An excellent Construction Project Manager must be well-versed in all construction methodologies and procedures and able to coordinate a team of professionals of different disciplines to achieve the best results. The ideal candidate will have an analytical mind and great organizational skills. The goal will be to ensure all projects are delivered on time according to requirements and without exceeding budget.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains the Stewart/Perry brand and excellent relationships with owners, developers, and subcontractors
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and others to determine the specifications of the project
  • Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements
  • Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities
  • Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment, and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations
  • Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met
  • Acquire equipment and material and monitor stocks to timely handle inadequacies
  • Treat field personnel and other Stewart/Perry employees as partners working toward common goals
  • Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues
  • Mentor assistant project managers and college co-ops or interns

Skills

  • In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles
  • Current knowledge of quality and OSHA standards
  • Good knowledge of MS Office
  • Familiarity with construction/project management software
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • A team player with leadership abilities and a collaborative spirit
  • Offers unique perspectives and innovative ideas for improvement

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate will have served as an Assistant Project Manager for a few years learning and in the role of Project Manager for 2 years or more
  • Bachelor’s in engineering, construction management, building science, or relevant field

Our management team consists of building and financial professionals, operating from a LEED certified headquarters situated on a 16-acre campus. We have provided building services in 23 states, and we are registered or hold a license in 29 states. Single project customers are as important to the company as those with multiple project requirements in different geographic areas. Depending on the needs of the client, our services include Preconstruction Services, General Contracting, Design-Build, Construction Management (CM) and Civil Management.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $115,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
