Duties

  • Responsible for overall management of fiscal resources and direction of the Directorate, Morale Welfare and Recreation (DMWR) Community Recreation Division at a small/medium garrison.
  • Recreation Division at a small/medium garrison.
  • oversees programs including Sports, Fitness and Aquatics, Entertainment, Auto Skills, Parks and Picnic Areas, Library, Arts/Crafts, Community Activity Centers, Outdoor Recreation, Leisure travel and Better Opportunities for single Soldiers (BOSS).
  • Provides policies and guidance to ensure attainment of established objectives of the division.
  • Directs, develops, and administers plans and procedures of the established division; and implements regulations to provide for a widely recognized comprehensive community recreation program that address the needs of the military community.
  • Institutes innovative programs to meet future needs and provides leadership supervision. Communicates mission and organization goals to subordinates.
  • Develops policy and strategic plans addressing resources, facilities and programs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Conditions of Employment

  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position to include a credit check.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.

  • Operation is 7 days a week, regular schedule will be 8:00am-5:00pm. Subject to an irregular tour of duty including early mornings, evenings weekends and holidays for special events.
  • Duties may involve working both indoors and outdoors.
  • Driver's license required to drive government vehicles.
  • Incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement OGE-450 upon entering the position and annually.

Qualifications

Qualifications must be clearly verifiable in your resume
  • Work experience directing/managing one or more DMWR Recreation Programs for a garrison, or similar civilian operation, for at least one (1) year.
Highly Preferred Criteria: All answers to the Highly Preferred Criteria must be visible in your resume to get credit.
  • A minimum of two (2) years' experience with RecTrac systems.
  • A minimum of two (2) years' experience planning and/or conducting large special events.
  • A minimum of two (2) years' experience managing FMWR Community Recreation programs.
