Description/Job Summary

The Community Recovery Specialist is primarily responsible for providing leadership, skill building, operational support and community integration activities to a designated client group either identified as a specific case load or all clients at specific locations depending on program structure.


Responsibilities/Duties

  • Assist program participants in skill building related to independent living, employment, education, money management, medication management, transportation, meal preparation, shopping for household goods, site cleanliness, housing searches, roommate matching and social skills development.
  • Focus on identified areas of assistance specific to each individual served that will prepare them to advance to a lower level of care.
  • Community integration is an area of focus for all individuals on case load.
  • Documentation of support provided, AVATAR Notes, review of MARS and client charts required daily updates.
  • Collaborate with a diverse team of program staff to review progress, setbacks, obstacles and achievements met at least weekly.
  • Complete all required funder documentation and service delivery requirements set by licensing agency.
  • All other duties as directed.

Required Experience

  • Three years of experience working directly with individuals within the behavioral health field.

Required Education

  • A High School Diploma, Bachelors preferred

Required Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Products and Applications Required
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Completion of criminal and driving background check


Program Summary

The PIER (Pledge for Independence, Empowerment & Recovery) program is a new program located in Bucks County. The eight bed co-ed Long Term Structured Residential (LTSR) serves individuals with mental and behavioral health disabilities. Beds are allocated to Bucks County unless otherwise approved by Bucks County Behavioral Health (BCBH) and Bucks County Department of Mental Health/ Development Programs (MH/DP).
