Job Purpose: The Co-Manager is responsible to collaborate and support the General Manager in driving top line sales and bottom line profit; achieving all company objectives and leading and inspiring a high performance team. Co-Manager will supervise business operations and perform administrative tasks as support to a General Manager. This position will be responsible to delegate tasks of team members and arrange schedules. In collaborating with the General Manager, the Co-Manager will also be responsible for hiring and training new team members, enforcing policies and regulations at all times. Promote and abide by the high standards of GEI and maintain regulatory and company compliances while upholding the highest standards of safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Mostly works opposite shifts to the General Manager and performs all duties of manager. Perform all work according to all policies and procedures and facilitate to maximize store performance.

Prepare employee schedules and analyze staffing requirement for shifts and make adjustments to provide optimal quality of work.

In partnership with the General Manager, administer all employee issues and ensure accuracy in all policies and prepare all reports for employee issues and manage all complaints.

Develop and enhance the customer experience in our stores by fostering and maintaining a friendly positive attitude in all employees and drive store sales with hands on style leadership. Treat each customer as a guest in our stores.

Uphold the highest standards in store cleanliness and serviceability, execute in store site layouts, displays and in store stocking as well as plan-o-grams and retail processes to create an environment for an outstanding customer experience.

Demonstrate leadership, foster teamwork, show initiative and excitement for all store promotions and merchandising standards to facilitate sales growth in your store. Set the example for your store team.

Enhance and maintain good positive communication with customers, General Manager, district managers, your team of employees and vendors to enhance the performance and profitability of your store’s team and to continue to grow our customer base.

In partnership with the General Manager identify and resolve site issues and problems in a timely and positive manner. Efficiently and accurately processes sales transactions using the POS register system and adheres to checkout standards

Manages inventory shortage strategy, results, and concerns, and communicates policies and procedures to store population.

Maintains a low open position rate by pro-actively recruiting and hiring quality associates with strong customer service and operational skills

Assists the General Manager in managing poor performance and terminations appropriately, in partnership with the Human Resource Manager, district manager and/or operations manager.

Perform any other duties that are assigned by management.

Skills/Qualifications:

1-2 years of leadership experience in a retail environment. Has a passion for customer service while utilizing exceptional people skills and have a desire to excel in everything you do.

Previous experience in leading teams preferred.

Must be able to work 2nd & 3rd shifts, weekends and have flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business.

Basic knowledge of financial management and computer literacy in computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel. Ability to multi-task, run a cash register, process transactions, and run store equipment.

Maintain a disciplined approach to managing, training and developing your store team in daily work duties and responsibilities. Uphold company standards in personal appearance, work ethic, store cleanliness and customer service.

Required to have flexible schedule and work 50 hours per week.

Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs.

Ability to lift items, bend and work on your feet for during your work shifts

Have a can- do and team building attitude in everything you do while working at a GEI store.
