Responsibilities:
The Cloud Engineer role is in Rosslyn, VA. This role supports the Penetration Testing (Red Cell) team.
Position Description:
Qualified candidate will become part of Peraton’s Department of State (DoS) Diplomatic Security Cyber Mission (DSCM) program providing leading cyber and technology security experience to enable innovative, effective and secure business processes. Peraton’s DSCM program encompasses technical, engineering, data analytics, cyber security, management, operational, logistical and administrative support to aid and advise DoS Cyber & Technology Security (CTS) Directorate. This includes protecting a global cyber infrastructure comprising networks, systems, information, and mobile devices all while identifying and responding to cyber risks and threats. Those supporting Peraton’s DSCM program strive to leverage their expert knowledge and propose creative solutions to real-world cybersecurity challenges.
The Cloud Engineer role is in Rosslyn, VA. This role supports the Penetration Testing (Red Cell) team.
Position Description:
Assesses the current state of the customer’s system security by identifying all vulnerabilities, security measures, and suggest mitigation strategies.- Design, perform, and report on cloud penetration testing of systems to satisfy the NIST 800-53 CA-8 security control and using methodologies that may include, NIST SP 800-115, Penetration Testing Execution Standard (PTES), and Information Systems Security Assessment Framework (ISSAF).
- Produce ad-hoc reports and conduct management briefings if required on test activities, scenarios, results and recommendations.
- Stay abreast of current attack vectors and unique methods for exploitation of computer networks.
- May assist with maintaining team cloud infrastructure
- Mentor Mid and Jr staff members by providing guidance on best security practices and communication techniques.

Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
- To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience required in relevant IT experience with Cloud Services (will consider other combinations of experience, education and certification). An additional 4 years of experience may be used in lieu of degree.
- Active Secret clearance required.
- Well-rounded background in application, network, cloud, and system security
- Experience in Cloud environments, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, GCP, and on-premises systems.
- Familiar with Linux and Windows Administration
- Familiar in evaluating cloud system security configurations.
- Ability to work alone or in a small group
- Must be willing to learn and attend penetration testing training if no previous experience exists.
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry certifications such as OSCP, GCPN, CCSP, OSWE, GPEN, GWAPT, or GXPN
- Proven capability in identifying intrusion or incident path and method; isolates, blocks or removes threat access.
- Experience with conducting penetration and malicious user testing in Cloud environments, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, GCP, and on-premises systems.
- Experience with penetration testing tools such as Metasploit, Nmap, Nessus etc.
- Experience with Burp Suite Pro or Zap, including identification and usage of relevant plugins
- Top Secret Clearance
