Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The Clinical Manager Heart Valve Clinic is responsible for the daily clinical operations of the Heart Valve Clinic. This includes, but is not limited to, staffing, patient care, physician, and staff engagement. The Manager oversees and provides leadership in daily operations. Responsibilities include the assessment, planning and implementation of the daily patient schedule, delivery of patient care, assuring compliance with all regulatory and/or legal entities and maintaining quality standards and fostering collaborative relationships with the practicing physicians within the Hoag Specialty Clinic.
In close collaboration with the Hoag Heart and Vascular Institute service line leaders and under the direction of Institute leadership and the Medical Director, the Manager establishes evidence-based quality metrics and performance improvement goals for the department. Evaluates the capabilities of all personnel prior to delegating duties within the department. Ensures all regulatory compliance matters relating to patient care standards are met. Aligns productivity with Department budgets and participates in the fiscal planning process. Projects and image of professionalism in communication, appearance, and conduct; participates in the continuous quality improvement process and program growth and development. Travels to assigned to Clinic locations. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program.
A minimum of five (5) years’ experience as an RN in Surgical, Medical Oncology or GI. A minimum of three (3) years progressive supervisory experience or equivalent.
Preferred:
Master’s degree from an accredited university and 10 years’ experience as an RN. NP preferred.
Five (5) years of progressive management experience, including budgetary oversight and compliance.
Experience in working with staff, nurses, and physicians in a matrix reporting structure. Knowledge of the regulatory environment in not-for-profit organizations and outpatient settings.
License Required
A current and in good standing licensed RN with the California Board of Registered Nursing (RN)
Certifications Required
BLS
Certifications Preferred
Active Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN)

Executive Director HVI Operations
