Clinical Laboratory Quality Assurance Analyst


Job Description-
The Quality Assurance Analyst (QA Analyst) is a vital role in the operations of a clinical Laboratory. The QA Analyst is responsible for the understanding and maintenance of all laboratory records and procedures. In that role, the QA Analyst is responsible for ensuring the laboratory is following proper documentation and quality assurance protocols set in place by management. The QA Analyst reports to and assists the Laboratory Management with the operational needs of the laboratory.

  • Full Time
  • Monday – Friday
  • 8am-5pm

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teamwork-: demonstrates courtesy and respect for others while promoting teamwork and assistance when needed.
  • Understanding and Compliance of Laboratory procedures, policies, health, and safety regulations.
  • Document Quality Assurance activities, results, and reports to management.
  • Implements and maintains appropriate quality control processes and procedures to guarantee accuracy of analysis, and quality of results, such as internal audits, and corrective actions.
  • Oversee plans and preparations for inspections and maintains inspection readiness efforts.
  • Stays up to date on regulatory requirements and guidance and enhance and maintain a company knowledge of relevant regulations and guidance (CAP, API, CLIA, HIPPS, OSHA, COLA)
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Reports directly to the Laboratory Manager
  • Other quality assurance tasks needed and assigned by management.
  • Other administrative duties as needed and assigned (Answering phones, filing.)

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:

  • B.S. in with emphasis in Medical Technology, Chemistry, or Biological Science is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of Clinical Laboratory experience.
  • Knowledge of applicable regulatory and accreditation standards, rules, and guidelines.
  • Strong skills for organization, planning, decision-making, and facilitating process improvement.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills, self-motivated with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to create and maintain trend charts supporting, monitoring, and measuring activities.
  • Extremely detail
  • Understands the process for samples from the collection phase through to the reporting of the results and the proper handling of test results.
  • Knowledge of computers, Excel, and being able to type a must.


Special Requirements:

  • Candidate must retain confidentiality.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to legally work in the United States.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to lift/carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to bend at waist, turn and squat.
  • Ability to work with hands, see and hear.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Contingent upon a favorable background check.
  • Contingent on passing a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
