Beach Kids Yoga is an engaging, hands-on wellness program designed to teach young people the power and potential of their mind, body, and spirit.

In cooperation with Hermosa Beach Parks & Recreation, Beach Kids Yoga hosts classes, workshops and camps in local parks & beaches that support the development of children’s mind-body connection, self-management, coordination, balance, body awareness, strength and overall motor skills.

We focus on creating a fun environment that fosters skills to help develop healthy relationships (with self and others), learning how to identify and manage emotions, working toward goals (as individuals and as teams) and connecting with nature through creative play.

We are seeking experienced children's yoga teachers that hold a nationally recognized yoga certified.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

✓ Responsible for the safety, supervision, programming, and involvement of participants

✓ Teach age-appropriate yoga curriculum for kids based off of BKY's guidelines.

✓ Foster a safe, nurturing and welcoming environment for all participants

✓Incorporate BKY's weekly yoga and mindfulness themes into every class

✓ Follow BKY's class structure

✓ Plan and lead yoga classes based off BKY's structured template

✓ Must have class equipment set up prior to class start time and break down equipment to ensure it remains in good condition

✓ Greet children and adults at drop off and take attendance

✓Required to stay with children until pick up

✓Create a fun learning environment

Qualifications

✓Must pass background check and LiveScan

✓Prior experience working with kids is required (Minimum 2 years)

✓Completed a nationally recognized Registered Children’s Yoga Certification (RCYT-200)

✓OR completed a 95-hour teacher training with a Registered Children’s Yoga School (RCYS) with your RYT-200

Will consider 30hours CEC in Children's yoga & mindfulness IF you have a strong background of prior experience working with kids such as a school educator.

✓Must be CPR, AED and First Aid trained for infant, child and adult

✓Familiar with child development - physical, mental and emotional capabilities for age 2-12

✓Professional, prompt, responsible, caring and organized

✓Must love working with children

✓ Must love the beach, parks and playing outdoors

Hours & Days:

April & May- Tuesdays 3:00- 6:15pm

July & Aug -Tuesdays 3:00- 6:15pm

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $25.00 - $60.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Day shift
• Evening shift
• Monday to Friday
